AI Assistant (Ask Your Vault)
Chat with your notes. Ask questions in natural everyday language, and the assistant finds the exact answers across your notebook with clickable source links.
What is "Ask Your Vault"?
As your notebook grows to hundreds of notes, remembering where you wrote a specific recipe, quote, or meeting decision can be tough. The AI assistant acts as a personal librarian: ask a question like "What were the three key takeaways from our meeting with David?" and it reads your notes to give you the summary.

Unlike generic chatbots that make up facts, DaVinci Notes only answers using your actual notes. Every single sentence is backed by a clickable [[source link]] so you can verify the original text yourself.
Privacy & Offline AI
Your thoughts are private, so DaVinci gives you total control:

| No Silent Training | Your notes are never used to train public AI models. |
How to Turn it On
Go to Settings > AI Assistant.
Choose Ollama (free and offline) or paste your own API key for OpenAI, Claude, or Google Gemini.
